Christmas Dinner or New Year Party? We seriously don’t care so as long we get to make merry together. Bring out the dinner plates and angelic serviette holders and decorate the Christmas tree with antique ornaments and peppermint stick candies too. I reckon that should bring out our festive mood yah?
It wasn’t a huge party just a group of 30. We all bring along a dish sort of like potluck dinner. Pastas tossed generously with olives, salads with exquisite funky nuts & fruits, penne in white sauce, assorted fried fritters, satays grilled just before the party started. But the main attraction: The humongous honey baked ham roasted to perfection that all of us had second and third helpings and still couldn’t finish half of it.
You could sit by the table with lavishly decorated with X’mas props or just by the frontyard with a glass of champagne chit chatting for hours and hours.
Almost like buffet style so we all just helped ourselves with the food. But no party can ever feel completed without desserts. It felt like a mini competition to see who brought the best desserts. The cookie tower was definitely impressive and the orange suci cake was sweet and light. How about the chocolate bundt cake with an alcoholic kick? Everyone just think along Christmas mood but not me. I brought in a rainbow cheesecake made by an impressive baker guy.
I took one snapshot, had one slice of everything and went into help out in the kitchen. Before dinner commences, the cheesecake was already gone! I know they were gonna love it but I have no idea they love it that the cake that much. I guessed we all seen too many rainbow sponge cake but one that’s make out of cheesecake? Now that’s something new and rarely seen in Singapore.
Yah and we love having desserts before dinner.
Ice creams from the popular Island Creamery anyone? We talked and we talked till it was time to go. Not before we had a cuppa or two. Our craze for Nespresso coffee just never seem to get old. A full 30 minutes conversation just on the different coffee machine we owned? Serious coffee lover they are I must say. I got to go and here’s to the start of a new year. Cheers!
