The Orange Thimble Tiong Bahru Singapore II

DSC_0607.NEF (FILEminimizer)Three times maybe even four? Orange Thimble is probably the most frequently visited place when I’m in Tiong Bahru. I like how the cafe space is nicely divided to fit a different interior design especially that two rooms with the comfy sofas where I like to laze the whole day. Unlike the other cafes in that area, this is one of the more quieter cafes to chitchat. I don’t really care if the place has awesome tarts or out-of-this-world croissants. Good food just attracts more people, more people means more noise pollution and that’s not conducive for a all-out gossip session yah?

Between my first to my recent visit to here, I think they revamp their menu quite a bit.  I recall they didn’t didn’t excite me with their plain tasting if not out rightly boring brunch food.

All that changed until my recent visit when I ordered the Smoked Salmon Sandwich ($10.90). I like my sandwiches  big with generous fillings  and you can’t go wrong with raw salmon, sour cream and onions.

There’s a few more variation like the classic BLC and turkey ham that comes with your preferred choice of bread- ciabatta/ tortilla wrap/ burger bun/ baguette.

I think they increased prices of the OT American ($13.90)- their only breakfast dish. I think they ought to replace the name to Simple & Hearty. Request your eggs scrambled if sunny sideups don’t interest you but avoid the additional top-tops to have a omelette (Additional $4.90). I could use the extra cash to buy my favourite Kouign Amann next door.

DSC_0599.NEF (FILEminimizer)I think their coffee (Hot Cappuccino-$4.50/ Cold Cappuccino-$7.00) is still as good but I do hope they don’t increase their prices on their menu anymore.

I’m guessing their rental have increased quite substantially due to the prime location of the place. For the being though, I wouldn’t mind dropping by this cafe again and again.
