Tian Kee & Co Singapore

IMG_4816 (FILEminimizer)I usually avoid alfresco and non air-conditioned places especially in the afternoons when the unforgiving Sun is out. I just don’t like dressing up only to work up a sweat while sipping kopi. Tian Kee & Co is my only exception. Don’t expect stepping in here and be greeted by a cold gust of air like other cafes. The entire cafe is open air with a few outdoor table and sofa seats indoors but it is well-ventilated.

Even though it is just a minute’s walk away from Mountbatten station (another plus point to keep returning again), it still feels like you’re entering a completely different area or I should say really old estate.IMG_4825 (FILEminimizer)IMG_4846 (FILEminimizer)IMG_4848 (FILEminimizer) IMG_2828 (FILEminimizer)I came there thrice and I always order their Pink Lady ($6.00), a rose and steamed milk drink. I think that’s their unique drink or you could try the Ice Snag ($6.50) which has the addition of coffee. I didn’t really like it. I don’t think the coffee and rose combination suits my preference. Brunch here would include the usual fare, pies and soup.

I don’t think they have the best desserts but do serve something different like Yuen Yang Cheesecake and Gula Melaka Cheesecake all reasonably priced at $6.50.
